System/DevOPS Engineer

Our company is seeking a junior to senior System / DevOps Engineers, for a full-time role with the possibility of working from home or our office in Nis.

What you are going to work on:

Work with a professional team of System / DevOPS engineers, supporting the operations of a successful hedge fund business. Train on data security, troubleshooting processes and reporting expectations to ensure consistent support for clients and users. Work on streamlining every day operations and make the most of IT infrastructure. Work with developers to deploy and manage code changes, and with operations staff to ensure that systems are up and running smoothly. Be an essential role in integrating the project functions and resources across the product life cycle, right from planning, building, testing, and deployment to support.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of programmers and IT support staff
  • Train team on data security, troubleshooting processes and related skills
  • Oversee the creation, installation and support for computing systems
  • Meet with clients to determine their computing and technology needs
  • Manage projects and meet deliverables according to a set timeline
  • Work to improve the stability and security of the company cloud and on-premises networks
  • Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs
  • Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
  • Setting up tools and required infrastructure
  • Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
  • Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimizing the wastage
  • Encourging and building automated processes wherever possible
  • Incidence management and root cause analysis
  • Coordination and communication within the team and with customers
  • Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools
  • Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)

Required qualifications:

  • University degree in computer science, telecommunication, micro-electronic or electronic engineering (or equivalent)
  • Passion to understand, research, and evaluate new technologies
  • Highly responsible, self-disciplined, motivational, creative and a quick learner
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred qualifications:

  • Administering and maintaining Linux environments, specifically Redhat/CentOS/Debian; have or acquire a working knowledge level
  • Administration of Windows Server 2016/19 versions, ActiveDirectory, DNS, Exchange Server
  • Working with virtual platforms and architectures; preferred VMWare and KVM
  • Working with Amazon EC2 and Azure cloud platforms
  • Have/Learn network troubleshooting skills, working with routers/switches and TCP/IP protocols
  • Have/Acquire experience working with WEB servers, Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, IIS
  • Have/Acquire experience working with Version Control and CI tools (Jenkins, Team City, TFS, BitBucket)
  • Have/Acquire working knowledge of Python, Perl or Bash shell scripting
  • Have/Acquire working knowledge with databases MSSQL, Sybase ASE and MySQL
  • Have/Acquire working knowledge of IDS, Firewall appliances and IT Security
  • Have/Acquire working knowledge of Docker container deployments / K8s
  • Have/Acquire working experience in DevOPS, supporting development and production IT environments, working with enterprise grade equipment and procedures
